DJ Sbu (born 28 May 1977) is a well-known creative personality in South Africa. He is known to have worked as a DJ and TV host and is currently a writer who has published diverse books. DJ Sbu has hosted over 100 episodes of “Friend Like These” and is currently the founder of the energy drink “MOFOYA.”

Sibusiso Leope, famously known as DJ Sbu, was born on 28 May 1977 in Tembisa, South Africa. The entertainer grew up with his parents, Mothlegi Leope and Ntombizodwa Mothlegi Leope. DJ Sbu grew up and finished his primary education in Tembisa before moving to Pretoria. At Pretoria, he completed his higher education and bagged other certificates.
He started his early childhood education at Welamlambo Primary School in Tembisa, South Africa. He later moved to Pretoria, where he completed his higher education at Central Secondary School. Sbu bagged a bachelor’s degree in Sound Engineering from the African Media University. He later enrolled at the Technikon Witwatersrand University, where he studied and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Career
Sbu started his career in 1998 as a broadcaster for Tembisa Information Radio. While working as a broadcaster, he was in charge of organizing various weekend shows. He worked with the radio station for a year and 6 months, and Sbu later worked with YFM, a top radio station in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2000.
While working with YFM, he was the producer and co-host for the “Beauty and The Beast” weekend show with Angela Ludek. He produced the movie “Hang Time,” which gained massive recognition during that same year. He later appeared in the TV series Generations (2000), Isidingo (2001), and numerous TV adverts like Toyota Tazz and World Online. DJ Sbu left the entertainment industry in 2015, intending to focus on his foundation, “SLEF.”
