Makeda Mahadeo (born in 1987) is a prominent and notable Jamaican – Rwandan TV presenter, producer, and disc jockey. She immediately became popular after joining the TV presenting channel CNBC Africa. She previously worked on the Contact Fm radio show titled “The Switch,” which she handled for over five years. Makeda has co-anchored and produced the TV show “Rise And Shine Rwanda.” She is regarded as one of the country’s first females to be a DJ.

Makeda Mahadeo was born in 1987 to a Rwandan father and a Jamaican mother on the Caribbean Island of Jamaica. Makeda Mahadeo’s father, who died tragically, was a Rastafarian Dj popularly known in the music industry before his demise. Makeda was born and brought up on the Caribbean Island and said her late father, “Aloys Karamuheto” was her major source of inspiration.

She graduated from a Jamaican University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Literature before pursuing a career as a disc jockey.

She has shown high consistency and was chosen to judge in 2019’s East African Got Talent Show, where she was well accepted and appreciated. Her main rise to fame was after starting a career in the entertainment industry as a DJ in 2010, and she has gone off to be a massive success.
