Early Life
Mpho Phalatase was born on the 7th of November, 1977, in Hebron, Pretoria, South Africa.
She initially stayed with her grandmother for some years before joining her parents in Mabopane, Gauteng, South Africa.
Mpho Phalatse has enjoyed a lot of success academically and has numerous degree awards, including a Medical and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), a Diploma in Project Management and Programme Management, and a Master’s Degree in Medicine.

She was elected the Executive Mayor of the Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality on the 22nd of November, 2021, after receiving 144 out of 265 total votes.
