Pholoso Masombuka who’s known professionally as “Toss” is one of the young and aspiring musicians in South Africa. He is known and partly created with the production of “uMlando” which became a popular song in the country.
Early Life
Toss whose real name is Pholoso Masombuka was born in Tsakane, Brakpan in South Africa on July 17th, 1999.
Though we don’t have much information on him, he had a strong interest in Kwaito and started dancing at a young age.
Toss became prominent for dancing in Pantsula in Tsakane, East of Johannesburg; he attended an art school and while studying, he quickly fell in love with music.
Career
After completing his education, Toss was interested in playing football and signed for Kaizer Chief. He was part of the development team of the South African football club and things improved gradually.
Thereafter, Toss’s vision of becoming a footballer was dashed after his disciplinary action resulted in his dismissal from the team.
He sought another route to life and decided to venture into the music industry in 2014.
After joining the industry, Toss met with music producer, 9number who later became a strong influence and helped him succeed.
Through their collaborations, he became established in the entertainment industry.
Toss’s major rise in the entertainment industry came in 2022 when he collaborated with 9number and Mdoovar to produce the hit song, uMlando. This song quickly gained attention and became a known anthem in South Africa.
As a result of the success of the song, a dance challenge was created, and a lot of South Africans participated in it and posted videos on numerous social media platforms.

After the success of the single, uMlando, Toss made a viral dance challenge in which a lot of fans engaged.
This dance challenge which requires one to shake their body became a prominent social media challenge in the country.
A lot of celebrities got involved and to date, the challenge is still active with large engagement.
